The fire raged through the hourly parking garage of Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) on Friday afternoon, triggering several Structural damages.
The multiple vehicles were found damaged inside one of the parking garages
The airport authorities closed the operation of JAX airport and suspended the operation of all kinds of flights.
Several vehicles caught fire on the third level of the hourly parking garage, according to a staff member with JAX, adding that during the fire, the garage was full with 95 per cent of vehicles.
The traffic movement of all kinds of roads in and around ( inbound and outbound road access) the JAX airport remained suspended while the firefighters were working to douse the blaze.
The rescue team started working to probe the cause of the fire and assess the extent of the losses from the fire.
According to the airport, daily surface lot, daily garage, economy lots and other parking facilities are still accessible.
At the airport, there are some shuttle buses, which will be available to transport people to their vehicles.
The airport did not find any casualties in the fire, City Council President Randy White said in a statement.
The extent of losses from the fire is yet to be assessed.
JAX actions are being evaluated to guarantee a safe return to service.
