The rookie year for American professional baseball pitcher Tarik Skubal in Major League Baseball (MLB) was 2020. Tarik made his MLB debut pitching for the Detroit Tigers against the Chicago White Sox on August 18, 2020.

Tarik Skubal recorded 37 strikeouts over 32 innings by playing eight games despite the challenges of a pandemic-shortened season.

Concluding in a standout 2024 season, his debut season laid the groundwork for a promising career.

The baseball player earned the American League Cy Young Award and achieved the pitching Triple Crown.

His early performances highlighted his resilience and talent, marking him a key player for the Tigers’ future.

Born in 1996, Skubal attended Kingman Academy of Learning in Kingman, Arizona and played college baseball for the Seattle Redhawks of Seattle University.

After undergoing surgery of Tommy John, Skubal missed most of the 2016 season and all of 2017.

Despite the injury, the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 29th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft, opting instead to return to Seattle, drafted him.

He had a combined 21–7 record as a starter for the Redhawks.

During his final season in Seattle, he led the team with 106 strikeouts and 56 walks, pitching 80 innings in his final season in Seattle.

Tarik Skubal pitched five perfect innings for the Detroit Tigers against the Texas Rangers at Comerica Park on May 9.

This performance was repeated on May 25 as Tarik pitched five perfect innings against the Cleveland Guardians.
