Caitlin Clark has become the first rookie to be named to the All-WNBA first team in 16 years.
The 2024 All-WNBA teams were announced officially on Wednesday, with some of the league’s superstars earning much-deserved recognition after stellar seasons.
The Indiana Fever guard joined Napheesa Collier, A’ja Wilson of Las Vegas Aces and league MVP, Breanna Stewart and Alyssa Thomas on the first team.
A panel of 67 sportswriters and broadcasters selected the teams.
Clark came fourth in the MVP voting and received 52 first-team votes — the fourth-highest overall.
Since Candace Parker in 2008, Caitlyn has been the first rookie named on the first team.
Caitlin is the fifth rookie to receive the honour, joining the likes of Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird, Parker, and Tamika Catchings.
The WNBA Rookie of the Year finished her first campaign averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and a league-high 8.4 assists per play.
Caitlin quickly adapted to the next level after being selected with the #1 pick in the draft.
She led the Indiana Fever to their first playoff appearance in the better part of a decade while putting up impressive numbers for a rookie.
Clark has recently finished her debut season, where she led the Indiana Fever to the postseason behind a record-breaking WNBA Rookie of the Year performance.
Since the beginning of her senior season with the Iowa Hawkeyes, Clark has had her first extended break from basketball with the Fever eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
Clark is taking complete advantage of her time away from the basketball court.
This week, the All-Star point guard played golf with Indiana teammate Lexie Hull.
