Former NBA player Ben McLemore was arrested by US Marshals at the Portland airport on Tuesday and jailed in Oregon on accusations of four sex charges.

According to Clackamas County (Ore.) Circuit Court documents, the charges include first-degree rape and first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, both A-level felonies that carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. Charges of first-degree rape carry a bail of $500,000.

The allegations brought against Ben McLemore said that the NBA player was arraigned Wednesday in a Portland area court as he assaulted a woman sexually in 2021 when he was playing for the Portland Trail Blazers.

Additionally, the player was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual abuse. Both C-level felonies carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison.

Multnomah County police arrested McLemore and arraigned him at 2:00pm in Clackamas County Circuit Court. As the indictment has been sealed, details of the case are unknown.

Clackamas County Circuit Court will hear his case at 10:00am on July 1.

When McLemore, 31, averaged 10.2 points for the Portland Trail Blazers in 64 games, he last played in the NBA in 2022.

McLemore, who was the seventh overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings, played four seasons in Sacramento before stints with Memphis, Houston, the Lakers, and Portland.

When he started all 82 games for the Kings and averaged 12.1 points, his best season was in 2014, his second in the NBA.

McLemore signed a one-year deal with AEK Athens in the Greek League after the NBA, but he left after playing in only seven games.
