Eminem’s net worth in 2024 is reportedly $250 million. Despite a steady stream of both commercial success and critical and peer acclaim, Eminem is not flashy with his cash but instead leads a somewhat frugal lifestyle.
The Slim Shady is largely credited with popularizing hip-hop music to white Middle America.
“I save a lot of money by not purchasing drugs anymore,” Eminem said with his signature candour to The New York Times in 2010.
The “Sing for the Moment” rapper has been in recovery since 2008 following an overdose the year before from abusing prescription drugs.
Now, being clean for 16 years, he released a single “Houdini” in June, an homage to his “Without Me” with the Slim Shady persona, where among other things, he boasts that his profits were skyrocketing.
He has admitted in the past to preferring to hold on to as much of his wealth as he could, most likely stemming somewhat from being raised in poverty.
He also told The New York Times back in 2010 that he invests and always tries to be smart with money. He tries to treat all the money he is making as though it was the last time he was ever going to make it.
Eminem mentioned that he does “not particularly” like spending money.
For instance, the Rap God reportedly bought a Rolex when he first became famous, but he told Anderson Cooper he never wears it because he is scared of getting it scratched, and also he apparently called his manager before buying the watch to make sure he could actually afford it.
Even though it seems like the musician became famous overnight, in reality, he worked diligently for decades before becoming a mainstream success.
Born Marshall Bruce Mathers III on October 19, 1972, in St Joseph, Missouri, Eminem had music in his blood.
His parents were in a band before his father left, which he mentions in his songs when he was a toddler.
He was raised by his mother, Debbie, and moved several times before settling in a Detroit suburb.
Eminem saw financial struggles throughout his childhood and adolescence, which may have led to this outlook.
On Thursday, the artist announced that he was going to become a grandpa as his daughter Hailie Jade, 28, is expecting her first child, via a new music video for his song “Temporary,” featuring Skylar Grey.
