Kelly Clarkson has come clean regarding her recent weight loss, stating that on time she did not recognize herself on screen, prompting her to make changes reports ABC News.

The singer, in an interview with Whoopi Goldberg on a recent episode of her talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” said she was watching a taped performance of herself singing and could not recognize herself on TV.

She said some of them were watching TV at her New York house when all of a sudden she paused and asked them who it was on the screen. Then she was in utter disbelief finding out that it was indeed her.

Clarkson said even her close friends and colleagues did not notice her weight gain as it happened over time. She said her manager was shocked as she was.

The 42-year-old mother-of-two shared with Goldberg that she weighed over 200 pounds at the time.

Once Goldberg shared with Clarkson that she had lost a significant amount of weight using a medicine for weight loss, without disclosing the name, Clarkson revealed that she too was on medication.

Clarkson also did not reveal the name of the medication she was on, but said she was advised by her doctor.

The singer said the medication she was on, which apparently was not Ozempic, is one that helps break down sugar in the body.

Over the last two years, drugs such as Ozempic, Mounjaro and others that help in weight loss have gained popularity and become widely available.

The US FDA has approved both Mounjaro and Ozempic, but some doctors prescribe the medication as “off-label” for weight loss, since it is permissible.
