Richard Sherman arrested for suspicion of DUI in in Washington

Former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) in Washington early Saturday.

Richard Sherman played 11 total seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

According to a first appearance document, the Washington State Patrol stopped Richard Sherman for going 79 mph within a 60 mph zone at about 2am (local time) in Bellevue.
A district court judge found probable cause for DUI, reports CNN.

According to the document, Sherman told authorities that he had two margaritas when asked if he’d had any alcohol to drink. Sherman also agreed to a voluntary test.

Sherman’s eyes were bloodshot and watery and there was an “odor of intoxicants, the document also notes.

However, the Seattle Seahawks star was arrested and booked at the King County Correctional Facility.

According to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, on Saturday, a King County District Court judge found probable cause for DUI.
A court hearing is likely to be held on Monday to address the conditions of the release of Sherman.

The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is yet to confirm whether Sherman has retained an attorney.

According to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, no bail amount has been set for Sherman as the court has not given any conditions of release.
