Pawn Stars creator Rick Harrison’s son, Adam Harrison, dies at 39

Pawn Stars creator and lead Rick Harrison’s son Adam Harrison has died of an overdose. He was 39.

Adam Harrison’s death was believed to be from an overdose, a representative for the family confirmed to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The Harrison family learned of Adam’s death on Friday, but the circumstances of Adam’s death are unknown, media outlet TMZ first reported the news.

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department confirmed with TMZ that They have launched an investigation into his death.

Herlovich issued a statement on behalf of the family, saying, “Our family is extremely saddened by the death of Adam.” However, he also asks for privacy as they grieve his loss.

He also posted a tribute to his son on Friday night on Instagram and Facebook.

Adam Harrison, who was the second child of Rick Harrison and his ex-wife, Kim, was the younger brother of Corey Harrison, also known by his nickname “Big Hoss”.

Rick remarried his second wife Tracy and the couple has one son named Jake.

TMZ reports, Adam worked at Gold & Silver Pawn before the show’s 2009 launch.

Adam reportedly worked at Gold & Silver Pawn before the series’ 2009 premiere. He, however, has not recently worked at the pawn shop.

On Friday, PEOPLE did not receive an immediate response from Herlovich or the Las Vegas Metro Police Department.
