South Korean singer Park Boram dies unexpectedly at 30

South Korean singer Park Boram, who has steadily built her career over the past decade, has died unexpectedly at the age of 30.

Her agency Xanadu Entertainment confirmed the death saying that Park Boram suddenly passed away late at night on April 11 but the cause behind her death is currently underway by police.

Quoting police statement, South Korean entertainment website AllKPop, said Park Boram was at a private meeting with two friends on April 11 when she was found unconscious in a bathroom.

The singer was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared her dead at 11:17pm, AllKPop said.

According to The Korea Herald, Boram collapsed in cardiac arrest when she was with two other women at a friend’s home.

All of the artists and executives at Xanadu Entertainment expressed deep shock at the death of Park Boram and paid tribute to her with great sadness.

As the death is currently under police investigation, the agency has requested public and media not speculate about the cause of her death.

Police said her autopsy will be held on Saturday.

Park Boram secured her popular at the age of 16 after she particited in the South Korean channel Mnet’s singing reality competition Superstar K2 in 2010. She placed in the top eight in the Superstar K2.

As a solo singer, she performed in 2014 with the single “Beautiful”.

Park released “Celepretty,” “Sorry,” “Pretty Bae,” “Dynamic Love,” and several songs.

Earlier this year, she most recently put out a pair of singles — “I Hope” and “I Miss You”. As a recording musician this summer, Park was working on an album to coincide with her 10th anniversary.
