Aaron Boupendza, a Gabonese professional footballer who played as a forward, has died after he fell from the 11th floor of a building in China.
The incident happened on Wednesday in the building where he was playing for Zhejiang FC.
The federation said in a statement on X that the national football federation (Fegafoot) and the entire Gabonese football family expressed their deep condolences to his biological family.
He featured for his country at the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) 2021 in Cameroon and won total 35 caps for the Panthers.
Boupendza, 28, in January, joined Chinese club Zhejiang FC from Romanian outfit Rapid Bucharest.
The forward started his career in his homeland with CF Mounana and went on to have spells with sides in the United States, France, Portugal, Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
The national football federation (Fegafoot) announced the news on social media.
Boupendza leaves us with the memory of a great striker who left his mark on the CAN in Cameroon.
