What is General Booty’s real name?

The legal name of University of Louisiana-Monroe quarterback’s is General Maximus Axel Booty.

His folks had plans for him to be called by his middle name Axel, however, according to an interview with the Dallas Morning News, he would only respond to General.

With the huge amount of college football players, there are bound to be some names that make you do a double-take.

In the past, there have been guys with names such as Ha-Ha Clinton Dix, Storm Duck, and even someone called Hot Rod Fitten.

The rather humorous names have sparked 247Sports and other outlets to release their “all-name” team each fall.

Booty’s father, Abram, played as a wide receiver at LSU in the late 90s. Reportedly, Abram was “fascinated” with the military and always wanted to name his son General if he had one.

The Booty family is rooted in Louisiana. While Abram played as a wide receiver, his brother Josh (General’s uncle) played as a quarterback for the Tigers and was drafted to the NFL in 2001.

 John David, General’s other uncle, also played football and was a quarterback for USC.
