American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has cancelled her Vienna tour dates following an attack threat that filled her with “a new sense of fear”.
The US pop megastar revealed her cancellation on Wednesday after authorities uncovered a plot to attack her Vienna concert venue.
She also felt guilt for letting down fans as she cancelled her three shows in the city.
Swift in a post on Instagram said she felt an incredible amount of guilt as many had planned to travel to the concerts.
The singer also commended authorities for foiling the plan to cause mass destruction at Ernst Happel Stadium.
Earlier in August, the singer cancelled three concerts in the Austrian capital as law enforcers arrested three people for allegedly planning attacks inspired by the Islamic State group.
During primary interrogation, the arrestees confessed to wanting to cause a “bloodbath” at Swift’s Eras Tour shows.
On Tuesday, the songwriter completed the European leg of her Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium in London.
Taylor Swift said she was also very thankful to the authorities as thanks to them.
While continuing with her tour, the safety of her fans was paramount, she said.
The US pop megastar said every day, she and her team worked hand in hand with stadium staff and British authorities in pursuit of that goal.
This summer, Swift performed eight concerts at Wembley, surpassing a record for any solo singer. Michael Jackson previously set the solo anger in 1988.
Swift’s next show is scheduled for October 18 in Miami, Florida, as part of The Eras Tour.
