Why is Ellen moving to Europe?

Ellen DeGeneres has reportedly relocated to the countryside in England, according to People Magazine.

The move came shortly after Trump won the US presidential elections although it was hard to say whether this was the reason.

The former talk show host, whose long-running series “Ellen”, mired in controversies towards the end, ended in May 2022.

Ellen reportedly moved to the UK with her wife after finding a house she fell in love with.

Ellen was spotted with her wife Portia de Rossi last week at a pub owned by TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson in the Cotswolds called The Farmer’s Dog.

A real estate agent in California told People Magazine that the couple sold their Carpinteria estate in August for a whopping $96 million.

Ellen is known to collect multimillion-dollar houses and owns several estates in Southern California.

People Magazine had earlier reported that Ellen flipped a house for $32 million in Montecito, California in May 2024 after restoring it and another house in the same town in April 2022 for $15 million.

Ellen reportedly bought and sold over 50 houses.

Her current neighborhood at the moment, the Cotswolds, is a popular spot for British celebrities for country estates.

Kate Moss, the Beckhams, Elizabeth Hurley, Damian Hirst, and former British Prime Minister David Cameron are known to have a country house in the neighbourhood.

Even King Charles is known to have an estate “Highgrove House” in the Cotswolds.
