  1. Daily Inqilab

Daily Inqilab newspaper was founded in 1986. This paper is owned by Inqilab Publications Limited, and the publisher of this newspaper is A M M Baha Uddin. Inqilab is popular for its Islamic and conservative journalism. As a major policy, this paper follows Islamic values. That’s why it has become popular with 90 percent of the Muslim population.

Like Bangladesh Pratidin, Jugantor is also the most broadly distributed newspaper in Bangladesh. It was founded in 2000, but this one is owned by the Jamuna Group. 

Jugantor paper was printed and published by Jamuna Printing and Publishing Ltd. This publication was established in 1999. Their main journal focus was on progressive and liberal journalism. Not only that, it covers everything from lifestyle, technology, and entertainment to human rights, social justice issues, and more.

  1. Bangladesh Pratidin

Bangladesh Pratidin is the most widely distributed newspaper in Bangladesh. It was founded in 2010, and East West Media Group owns this newspaper. This group is the part or arm of the Bangladesh Awami League. The editor of this newspaper is Naem Nizam. 

Bangladesh Pratidin – known for its pro-government and pro-development perspective. Also, it covers business, sports, and entertainment news. In addition, this paper has an online edition as well.

  1. Daily Sangbad

The Sangbad is the oldest newspaper in Bangladesh. It was founded in 1951. In the 1950s and 1960s, the newspaper showed powerful views opposing Ayub Khan, and the government in Pakistan and was suppressed accordingly.

As a result, the printing office was ultimately burned in 1971 and remained closed during the liberation war. Apart from this history, Sangbad was the first Bangladeshi newspaper that had a section for women.

  1. Naya Diganta

Naya Diganta newspaper was founded in 2004. It is owned by the Diganta Media Corporation. The owner of this corporation is Mir Quasem Ali Group, who is simultaneously a businessman and politician. 

Diganta TV was the subsidiary of the Naya Diganta newspaper. The channel was launched in 208. Like others, it also has an online edition and English publication, The Daily New Age.

  1. Ittefaq

Ittefaq is the second oldest newspaper in Bangladesh. It was founded in 1953. It is owned by the Ittefaq Group of Publications. This publication is basically a family-owned media company. 

At first, this paper was published on a weekly basis.  At that time, ‘Akhand Pakistan’, through this paper, Pakistani leaders’ neglect and colonial mentality were expressed, especially towards East Pakistan. Ultimately the Pakistani government took action against its editors and journalists.

Now this paper has standard sections like other newspapers, covering education, politics, economics, and others. The best part is that Ittefaq has an E-paper version for online readers.

  1. Amader Shomoy

Amader Shomoy newspaper started its publication in 2003, under Nayeemul Islam Khan. But unfortunately in 2012, he was removed as publisher by a court ruling.

  1. Daily Janakantha

Janakantha is a Bengali daily newspaper. It was published from Dhaka, Bangladesh. This newspaper is owned by Janakantha Shilpa Paribar (GJSP). Janakantha originally appeared in 1993. 

In 1999, Islamist militants had placed landmines near the newspaper office. But luckily, members of the Bangladesh Army were called in to remove that landmine. The newspaper has a nonreligious to liberal political bent. However, Janakantha has both print and online editions.

  1. Daily Manobkantha

Manobkantha is a Bengali newspaper. This newspaper started its first publication from Dhaka. Manobkantha had a readership of 161,150 in 2018. The newspaper was founded in 2012, and the Asean Group owns the newspaper.

  1. Jaijaidin

Jai Jai Din is a national newspaper. It was founded in 1984, and Jai Jai Din Publications Limited owned this publication. 

It gained its popularity in the 1980s. Because it showed the contemporary viewpoint and strong opposition to Hossain Mohammad Ershad. He is a military dictator. But in the end, the newspaper was banned by him. But in 1991, when democracy was restored, Jaijaidin began the process of republication.

Kaler Kantho is another famous Bangladeshi newspaper. The publisher of this newspaper is  East West Media Group Limited, just like Bangladesh Pratidin. Not only that, this company owned some online news like news24, bangladeshnews24, and others. Kaler Kantho was first published in 2010. It covers different topics like careers and jobs, literature, fun, IT, and more.
