Brenda Lee ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’ signer receives Christmas gift from Mariah Carey

Holiday singer Mariah Carey, who may have a bit of competition with singer Brenda Lee for the Queen of Christmas crown, has given Lee an early Christmas gift, report billboard and Tennessean.

Lee’s Christmas classic “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, which the singer, 78, first released in 1958, hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week.

Lee was just 13 when she recorded “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, which is only the third holiday No. 1 ever on the Hot 100.

The Lee’s holiday staple overtakes Mariah Carey”All I Want for Christmas is You. Usually, Carey’s song sits comfortably at the top all season long.

On December 7, singer Lee revealed that Carey sent her a sweet bouquet of flowers and congratulated her on her holiday hit scoring the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

The holiday star posted a photo of the flowers and the card sent from Carey on her Instagram stories.

“Dearest Ms. Brenda, congratulations on your historic No. 1. Have a Merry Christmas. Love, Mariah,” the card reads.

Lee soundtracked the post with Carey’s seasonal No. 1 hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

She captioned the post, “Thank you for your sweet note, @mariahcarey! Wishing you the merriest Christmas, too!”

Carey, the songstress, sent flowers to her with congratulations for hitting the #1 slot, said Lee in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Lee told Billboard that she is happy for everybody here who’s worked so hard to make this happen because in today’s world. Everything moves so fast and furious, she added.
