Linda McMahon resigned from WWE as its CEO and left the entertainment wrestling company to run as a Republican in the US Senate from its Connecticut seat on September 16, 2009.
However, Linda remains a minority owner of WWE.
TKO Group Holdings owns and operates the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). It is a majority-owned subsidiary of Endeavor Group Holdings.
Linda married Vince McMahon on August 26, 1966. She was 17, and he was 21. The pair struggled financially and went bankrupt, racking up a debt of $1 million by 1976. However, their dedication to the company led to where WWE stands today.

Donald Trump has picked his transition co-chair Linda McMahon to serve as the next secretary of the Department of Education.
The decision, which Trump announced on Tuesday night, confirmed CNN’s earlier report which claimed it was clear that McMahon would be passed over for Commerce Secretary.
Trump earlier posted on his platform, Truth Social, promising that McMahon’s deep understanding of business and education would empower the upcoming generations of students and workers, while sending “education back to the states”.
McMahon, 76, a long-term ally of the president-elect, served in his first term as the administrator of the Small Business Administration and ran a major pro-Trump PAC both in 2020 and 2024.
