NFL’s Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell suffered “minor injuries” during a shooting in Sanford, Florida on Sunday.

However, Tank Dell, 24, was treated at a hospital and released, said the team in a statement posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

He is in now good spirits after he was injured from the shooting, the team said.

The violent incident took place in Sanford, about 40 miles south of Dell’s hometown, Daytona Beach, said the team, reports NBC news.

Ten people were hurt with non-life-threatening injuries in a post-midnight shooting at Cabana Live according to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies patrolled a nightlife venue in an unincorporated section of Sanford.

According to The Associated Press, following a verbal altercation early Sunday morning, a teenage gunman allegedly opened fire at the venue, leaving 10 people injured with bullets.

However, the Sheriff’s office could not provide the victims’ identification if Dell was among them. But, Seminole City police spokesperson Bianca Gillett denied the overnight shootings.

The sheriff’s office said police arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with the attack, adding that before shots rang out, the violence began with an argument.

The office said a security guard working at the venue however quickly detained the suspect.

Calling the attack an “isolated incident”, the venue in a statement said the violence happened during a private event.

Dell, who was drafted from the University of Houston, had 709 yards receiving in 11 games in his 2023 rookie season.

Dell is from nearby Daytona Beach, Florida. He was a third-round draft pick for the Texans in 2023.

Before his rookie season was cut short, he wracked up 709 yards and 7 touchdowns when he fractured his fibula in December during a game against the Denver Broncos.
