Inter Miami, Messi lose 1-0 to FC Dallas in preseason game

Inter Miami faced a defeat against FC Dallas in a preseason friendly football match on Monday night, reports USA Today.
Lionel Messi had three shots on goal before exiting early in the second half in the MLS preseason game at Cotton Bowl Stadium but to no avail.
After the 1-0 loss to FC Dallas, Messi and Inter Miami remain scoreless through two preseason games as Inter Miami followed a scoreless draw against El Salvador’s national team on Friday.
FC Dallas went on to defeat Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami in a fair and square contest in the first match of the 2024 preseason as Jesus Ferreira scored an early goal to put FC Dallas ahead 1-0 in the 3rd minute of the match.
Although Messi and his squad had the majority of the possession and more passing rate, they were not able to score a goal.
Dallas’ first win marked the night at the Cotton Bowl since they defeated the New England Revolution 1-0 on September 30, 2009.
The 36-year-old Messi, who arrived in Miami last July the last year, scored 10 goals in seven games.
He led the team to its first prize, winning the Leagues Cup final on August 19, last year.

Inter Miami will face Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia on January 29 and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr on February 2.
