Inter Miami CF suffered a 6-0 loss to Al Nassr at Kingdom Arena by ending the Saudi Arabian portion of their 2024 preseason tour on Thursday.

The preseason game hyped worldwide as a showdown between legends Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo turned into a nightmare for Inter Miami, reports Mimi Herald.

Inter Miami which conceded three goals in the first 12 minutes was humiliated 6-0 by the Saudi team Al Nassr.

Lionel Messi spent the first 82 minutes of the match on the bench as a precaution after he felt worried following Monday’s loss to Al Hilal.

After Saudi fans at Kingdom Arena spent much of the game chanting his name, the Argentine star came in for a cameo in the 83rd minute. But even before he arrived, Miami was doomed to fail.

Inter Miami remains winless through four games of its seven-game preseason and has been outscored 11-3, despite its luxurious star-studded roster.

According to a club source, Messi underwent an MRI after Messi felt a twinge after Monday’s game. As a precaution, the coaches and medical staff planned to give him a few days to recover.

The Argentine star was expected to be left off the roster for Thursday’s game, but instead, he was on the bench.

Portuguese star Ronaldo watched the entire match from a suite due to a calf injury. Al Nassr canceled two games in China last week following his injury.

Anderson Talisca, a Brazilian player, scored a hat trick for Al Nassr as his first goal came in the 10th minute while his second came from a penalty kick in the 51st minute, and his third goal in the 73rd.

The criticism from Inter Miami fans on social media grew harsher, with each Al Nassr goal.
