Nancy Pelosi hospitalised

American politician Nancy Pelosi, who served as the 52nd speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011 and again from 2019 to 2023, has been admitted to a hospital in Luxembourg.

The 84-year-old speaker was taken to the hospital after she suffered an injury during an official engagement.

The incident happened while Pelosi was travelling to Luxembourg for Battle of the Bulge remembrances.

The California representative is currently undergoing treatment from doctors and medical professionals, said spokesperson Ian Krager in a statement.

However, it is still unknown about the level of her injury and the reason behind the incident even, though the authorities did not describe the nature of her injury or give any additional details.

Talking to the Wall Street Journal, a person, who was present during the incident, said Nancy Pelosi tripped and fell following a group photo with other lawmakers and officials there.

Ian Krager said the speaker suffered an injury during an official engagement while travelling with a bipartisan Congressional delegation in Luxembourg. His travel was arranged to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge in World War II.

She was admitted to the hospital for evaluation, her spokesperson added.

Krager also said Nancy regrets as she has been unable to join the remainder of the CODEL engagements to honor the courage of service members during one of the greatest acts of American heroism.
