Donald Trump’s former top aide Hope Hicks testified on Friday testified in the former president’s criminal trial.

Hope Hicks became emotional towards the end of her testimony during the former United States president’s criminal hush money trial, reports BBC.

She has appeared on the witness stand in New York City with tears and an open admission of nerves.

Trump who pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal the payment, has denied all wrongdoing.

During 2016, Hicks served as Trump’s campaign spokesperson and was a close confidante.

She served as the press secretary of the Trump campaign and held two stints as the White House communications director.

After a Trump lawyer asked, Hicks also teared up at one point on the stand.

She could come on board if a White House position had been created.

After taking a short break, she returned.

Hope Hicks testified about her experience working with Doland Trump. She also testified learning of the Access Hollywood tape recorded in 2005 that shows Trump saying he could “grab women” by their genitals as he was famous.

The matter surfaced weeks before the US presidential election in 2016.

By answering questions about the events surrounding the tape’s release, Hicks started her testimony.

As the Washington Post obtained the tape, the story reporter emailed Hicks asking for comment from Trump’s presidential campaign.

Hope Hicks testified that the email was her first warning about the tape and reviewed the email on a screen in the courtroom.

Hicks said she forwarded the email to Jason Miller, Kellyanne Conway, Steve Bannon, and other top campaign staffers.
