MLB.com, the official site of Major League Baseball, went down on the 2025 baseball season’s opening day on Thursday, disrupting the viewing experience of MLB fans across the country.

Major League Baseball dropped the ball for fans as MLB.TV streaming service crashed on the opening day for thousands of users.

MLB.TV, which is overseen by Major League Baseball Advanced Media, is sold as the best way to watch out-of-market games for fans, allowing people to stream games alongside 24/7 access to MLB Network.

Opening Day was heavily anticipated after an exciting offseason with Juan Soto joining the Mets.

However, immediate issues struck on Opening Day, with many streams crashing.

The subscription price of An MLB.TV All Teams is priced at $149.99 yearly, while the package brings you every out-of-market regular-season game, live or on demand.

Fans can also stream live Minor League games. They also hear live audio for all MLB teams – even the Cleveland Guardians.

There is the option to subscribe every month for $29.99.

The disruption began around 2:30pm ET and was resolved by approximately 5:00pm.

The exact cause of the MLB.tv outage on Opening Day 2025 remains undisclosed,
