A US billionaire businessperson and art collector Elaine Wynn married businessman Steve Wynn in 1963 and divorced in 1986, but remarried in 1991.

However, Wynn, who was co-founder of Mirage Resorts and Wynn Resorts, divorced Steve Wynn again in 2010.

Wynn, who resides in the couple’s mansion inside Southern Highlands Golf Club, died at 82 on April 15.

The US billionaire had supported education causes, the visual arts and the performing arts.

Elaine Wynn played an instrumental role in shaping modern-day Las Vegas, from the Golden Nugget to The Mirage.

She established the paradigm for everything that followed, including Bellagio, Wynn and Encore resorts.

Wynn exercised significant influence as the largest individual shareholder of Wynn Resorts, not just as an investor. She was also a steward of a vision that exceeded mere entertainment.

Born in Elaine Pascal on April 28, 1942, in New York City, she grew up partly in Miami Beach. Her mother was a homemaker while her father was engaged in selling package tours for resort hotels.

She graduated in political science from George Washington University in 1964.

She met Steve Wynn on a blind date arranged by relatives. Both were married in 1963.
