Rajinikanth, an Indian actor who mainly performs in Tamil cinema, has charged a massive paycheck of Rs 200 crore as a fee for Coolie, a 2025 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film.
Famous director Lokesh Kanagaraj directed the action film, which Kalanithi Maran produced under Sun Pictures.
Rajinikanth played an important role as an actor in 170 films that include films in Tamil during his career over five decades.
The superstar acted in Coolie 2025 as the centre of the crime drama, representing Deva, the protagonist.
According to the Indian daily newspaper Deccan Herald, megastar Rajinikanth has charged a huge payment of Rs 200 crore for the film.
His original payment was Rs 150 crore, but it was revised to Rs 200 crore after the production sold record-breaking tickets before release, added the report.
The film Coolie was rereleased in the theatre on August 14. Indian movie superstar Aamir Khan has charged Rs 20 crore for his brief appearance in the same film Coolie. Aamir Khan has been seen in a cameo role in the film.
His appearance has created more talks around the movie as he appears as a mafia don named Daaha.
