American comedian, actor, and writer Chevy Chase, who became the breakout cast member in the first season of” Saturday Night Live”,  may have a reputation for being quite difficult in Hollywood. Still, his prickly personality has softened over the years.

Chevy can not fake being nice and then can not show his true colour like many others.

“His offensive spots are gone, and he is prioritising feelings of other people’s over his own.”

Over the years, the 81-year-old National Lampoon’s Vacation star has had former costars from shows like Saturday Night Live and Community call him out for poor behaviour.

However, Chevy, who has three adult daughters– Cydney, Caley and Emily–is quite the softie at home with wife Jayni Luke.

He is a total family man along with his wife and his grown daughters.

The Caddyshack actor is always happy to help neighbours, and he will pick up the tab after lunch with friends.

Fans have witnessed a change in his reputation as he chooses to be honest and kind nowadays, and they are happy to see the change.

In recent years, various health scares have brought a little different in his life.

Chevy suffered a near-fatal cardiac disease in 2021. The comedy icon was forced to use a wheelchair for months as he fell badly and bruised his knee in late 2023.

He does not need the wheelchair as much as his health has improved.

The insider said he praises his loving wife and other loved ones for his recovery from illness, as he is now able to smile and in a cheery mood.

Recently, the actor reunited with the cast of 1989’s National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation on August 17, at Fan Expo Chicago at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Centre.
