BBC weather presenter Carol Kirkwood has announced she has married her partner Steve Randal in a “perfect and romantic and intimate wedding”.
The TV star’s wedding, which took place on Wednesday in Buckinghamshire, was revealed on BBC Breakfast on Friday.
The photos shared of the couple show Kirkwood wearing a boat neckline satin dress, and holding a bouquet of long-stemmed roses.
Kirkwood told BBC Breakfast that the wedding was the most perfect, romantic, and intimate. They are very incredibly happy.
The news presenter thanked fans for their “lovely messages” after the weddding was announced.
Kirkwood, 61, made her engagement public live on BBC Breakfast while attending the Chelsea Flower Show in 2022.
At the time, she revealed her engagement ring during a weather forecast. She said they went out for a picnic and she had no idea.
In a post on X, the weather presenter thanked well-wishers and said, “I and Steve are bursting with happiness, saying that it wasn’t a ‘secret’ wedding, just a private one.
Kirkwood, who joined the BBC Weather Centre team in 1998, has been named best TV weather presenter at the Television and Radio Industries Club Awards on nine separate occasions.
Kirkwood has not revealed many details about Steve, but she previously told Prima Magazine that he was described as “extremely handsome” as well as “always making her laugh.
It’s so romantic that he always makes me a cup of tea before I go to work in the morning.
Writing on X, Former BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker among others congratulated Carol and Steve.
