Nicolas Cage, who gave the voice for Spider-Man Noir, is set to play the lead role in the live-action drama series.
Spider-Man Noir, who starred in the Oscar-winning animated film, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”, is going to be the anti-hero of a live-action drama series named “Spider-Noir,” which has been announced to be developed.
Prime Video formally announced it on the 14th. In the US, the show will be available on MGM+, while in 240 other countries and territories, it can be streamed on Prime Video.
Spider-Man Noir makes his comic book premiere in a 2008–2009 miniseries as the main character.
Portrayed in a long coat and helmet, Spider-Man Noir is a rough-and-tumble Spider-Man specialising in dual pistol combat.
Based on the comic-books, the live-action drama is set in 1930s New York and tells the tale of an elderly struggling private investigator who must confront his former identity as a special superhero.
The filming of Spider-Noir started last February, as per Variety, although at the time, there was no talk of Nicolas Cage playing the lead role.
The first rumours of Cage’s role as the next Spiderman went viral on social media after Amazon’s pre-announcement.
According to the comic books, the alternate version of Spider-Man is a noir-themed character in the Marvel Noir universe (Earth-90214), which appears in a version of New York during the Great Depression.
Peter Parker gets bitten by a highly venomous spider which was housed in a spider-god idol while investigating a ring of criminal smugglers and loses consciousness.
He later has visions of the spider-god promising him power. When he wakes up inside a cocoon and comes out from it, he appears to have superhuman abilities similar to a spider.
