What do we know about Tragic Mass Shooting in Ohio?

At least one person was killed and 24 others injured in a mass shooting early Sunday in Ohio’s Akron.

Responding to 911 calls shortly after midnight, officers reported shots fired and multiple victims struck in the area of Kelly Avenue and 8th Avenue, as per a statement from Akron’s mayor and police chief.

An investigation was ongoing, and till now no further information on the suspect was available, city officials said, asking residents who may have information to come forward.

“We will bring those responsible to justice, and we need the help of our community to do that,” read the joint statement issued by Akron Mayor Shammas Malik and Police Chief Brian Harding.

In total, there were 25 gunshot victims, including one person being killed, police confirmed. Seven patients with gunshot wounds have been admitted to Cleveland Clinic Akron General, with one patient in critical condition, the hospital told CNN in a statement. S

umma Health System-Akron Campus received 15 patients, its spokesperson Mike Bernstein told CNN via another statement. Of the patients, one was brought dead on arrival, another was in critical condition and 13 patients suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

 Several were in the process of being discharged around 4:30am, Bernstein said.
